Hotel Villa La Vedetta is, situated high above the river Arno on Florence's Piazzale Michelangelo, overlooking one of the most famous and magnificent city views in the world. In fact, from the Piazzale the whole of Florence can be seen at a glance, from Forte Belvedere to Santa Croce, the Ponte Vecchio, the Duomo, the Uffizi, Palazzo della Signoria . The Piazzale or square, takes its name from the group of bronze sculptures that Giuseppe Poggi placed in its centre in the late 1800's, composed of Michealangelo's David (the original now in the Academy Museum) and the four allegorical figures commissioned by Pope Clement VII.
