Have a historic holiday in the home of the Dukes d'Acquarone!

Three reasons why you'll love it here

  1. A magnificent stately home, just outside Verona
  2. 40 hectares of gorgeous grounds and gardens
  3. The fairytale setting for a truly special event

Veneto, a land of wonderful wines and magnificent period residences. Period residences like Villa d'Acquarone, in San Martino Buon Albergo, a magnificent stately home immersed in beautiful gardens and in a landscape you are unlikely to forget.

Although first recorded mention of the Villa d'Acquarone dates back to the 17th century, it was not until the late 19th century that it acquired its present appearance. It was Matilde Muselli, the wife of the then mayor of Verona, who commissioned the complete restoration and enlargement of the property, in 1860. The work, supervised by the architect Giacomo Franco, was completed in 1894.

Since then, over a century has passed, but the classical beauty of this regal residence on the hill of Musella has remained unaltered.

Traces of the history and art of Veneto can be found in each and every corner of Villa d'Acquarone; for example, in the 17th century frescoes by Lodovico Dorigny on the ceiling of the dance and music hall, in frescoes by Biagio Falchieri in the private chapel, and in the 17th century iron domed bell tower attributed to the Sanmicheli School.

Just as sumptuous as the salons, and as elegant as the drawing rooms, the bedrooms and apartment reserved for guests are the epitome of old world luxury and refinement, but, with the careful addition of the latest in modern day comfort and technology, plasma television and Wi-Fi included.

Luxury, art and relaxation: essential ingredients for a dream holiday in Veneto, at Villa d'Acquarone. In the winter months, guests will enjoy browsing through the precious volumes in the villa's two storey library (there are more than a thousand of them!). In the summer, few will be able to resist the call of the beautiful swimming pool, situated next to the aviary, in the garden.

Ideal for sporty types, in the 40 hectare park surrounding the villa, there are a number of attractive running routes and cycle paths.

Whilst many will be loathe to leave the Villa and its beautiful grounds, nearby Verona is more than worth a visit, as are Lake Garda and the city of Vicenza.
