Le Sirenuse Positano

The 5 star luxury hotel Le Sirenuse occupies a spectacular position on Italy's magnificent Amalfi Coast looking out over the Mediterranean sea and with the baroque houses and tiled dome of the Mother Church of Positano clearly visible from the hotel terraces.

Le Sirenuse was once the summer residence of the Marchesi Sersale, transformed in an elegant 8 room hotel in 1951. Today the hotel, still managed by members of the Sersale family, has a total of 62 rooms and suites, yet maintains the same intimate atmosphere and graceful charm of the original building. Public areas are adorned with period furniture, beautiful paintings and an abundance of vines and flowers. The sunny terraces afford breathtaking views across the sea towards the Island of the Sirens.

The light-filled guestrooms are all decorated with a fabulous combination of contemporary furniture and antiques from the family collection. The floors are tiled with colourful hand painted Vietri tiles contrasting with the cool white washed walls. The majority of the rooms lead out on to a balcony or terrace offering superb sea views.
The suites are located in the original part of the villa, which dates back to the 18th century and feature vaulted ceilings, antique furniture, handmade floor tiles and a number of old master paintings and watercolors.
Bathrooms are decorated with Vietri tiles or finest marble. Showers and whirlpool bath are standard features in all bathrooms as are the Eau d'Italie beauty and skincare products. This exclusive range have been inspired by the scents of the Mediterranean, of bergamot, magnolia and the merest hint of incense.

The hotel Le Sirenuse's "La Sponda" restaurant serves the best of local and Italian cuisine. Chef, Alberto Citterio, uses the freshest ingredients to create wonderfully fragrant and deliciously light seasonal dishes. Hard to resist dishes such as "timbale of grilled cuttlefish with peppers, wholewheat crostini and an oil of parsley and cuttelfish ink", "gratinated Scampi with mixed aromatic leaves and white melon", and "Paccheri with fresh anchovies, roasted peppers and basil" are served on the panoramic restaurant terraces or beneath the magnificent vaulted ceiling of the elegant dining room.

On the upper terrace of the Palazzo, guests find the Hotel Le Sirenuse's stylish "Champagne Bar", open until past midnight and the ideal romantic location where to savor a variety of Mediterranean appetisers and sip a glass or two of Champagne. A range of light snacks are also available at the "Swimming Pool Cafè".

The Aveda Concept Fitness and Beauty Center, designed by the eminent Italian Architect, Gae Aulenti, with teak wood floors and glass walls, offers hotel guests a superb modern environment in which to relax and indulge in professionally performed massages and beauty treatments.
