The Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria occupies a magnificent cliff top location in Sorrento, on a superbly panoramic site overlooking the Gulf of Naples and Mount Vesuvius, where it is said that the Roman Emperor Augustus once had a beautiful villa. The Hotel, owned and managed by members of the Fiorentino family since it's inauguration in 1834, is of Italy's finest Grand Hotels, distributed in three different buildings built between 1834 and 1880 in fin-de-siècle style.
The sumptuous interiors still contain a great number of the original pieces of antique furniture first used to decorate the hotel, including beautiful pieces of the inlaid wooden furniture for which the cabinet makers of Sorrento are still famous today. The great majority of guestrooms lead out on to a balcony or terrace where to enjoy views of the Gulf of Naples or the sweet scented orange grove which surrounds the hotel. The magnificently luxurious suites of the Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria, recall the fascinating story of the many illustrious personages to have stayed within their walls, and offer the maximum in comfort.
The "Vittoria" Restaurant occupies, arguably, the hotel's most beautiful rooms, characterised by magnificent frescoed ceilings and exquisite deco furnishings. Here guests are presented with superlative Mediterranean cuisine and a selection of the finest regional and international wines. Inspirational Italian cuisine, prepared using the best of the Campania region's traditional and highly prized gastronomic produce, is served at the Terrazza "Bousquet"; on a terrace overlooking the Gulf of Naples and with views across the waters towards the islands of Ischia and Procida. In the summer months, excellent Neapolitan pizza, cooked in a traditional wood burning oven, can be enjoyed at the Pool restaurant.
Within the Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria's five acres of private garden, strewn with citrus trees, there is a large swimming pool where to soak in the Mediterranean sun. Nestling among the olive and orange trees, occupying what was once an elegant greenhouse, the holistic centre "La Serra" offers a number of rituals and wellness treatments performed in individual suites, each with its own Jacuzzi pool.
From the main terrace of the hotel, a lift descends directly to the pier and the harbour below, where to hire a motor boat for an excursion along the Sorrentine peninsula, or take a trip to the islands of Capri or Ischia on one of the many jet boat and hydrofoil services, which operate daily. For meetings and conferences, the Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria offers six elegant and well equipped meeting rooms, with a seating capacity for 30 to 250 guests.

General Terms and Conditions for Individual Guests 2008
Bookings cconfirmation
The reservation must be confirmed by letter, fax or e-mail by Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria within the next 48 hours from your request. All reservations must be guaranteed with an advance deposit of one-night. Advance deposit can be settled with cheque or will be charged to the credit car. For reservations of Junior Suites and Suites for 3 nights or more, a 50% advance deposit of entire stay booked will be requested and charged to the credit card.
Cancellation Policy
All reservations no cancelled within the following terms are subject to cancellation fees:
for reservations in between December 22, 2007 to January 3, 2008
and from May 1, 2008 to October 31, 2008
- In case of cancellation until 21 days prior arrival date, no charges will apply and advance deposit will be refunded.
- In case of cancellation from 20 to 10 days prior arrival date, 1 night advance deposit will not be refunded and a fee up to the 50% of entire stay booked including the advance deposit will be charged on credit card.
- In case of cancellation from 9 days prior arrival date and until arrival day and/or in case of no-show, 1 night advance deposit will not be refunded and a fee up to the 80% of entire stay booked including the advance deposit will be charged on credit card.

and from November 1, 2008 to December 21, 2008
- In case of cancellation until 7 days prior arrival date, no charges will apply and advance deposit will be refunded.
- In case of cancellation from 6 days prior arrival date and until arrival day and/or in case of no-show, 1 night fee. Advance deposit will not be refunded.
Reduction of length of stay
For any shortening in length of stay one night charge will automatically incur. For Junior Suites or Suites you may be liable to pay the total number of nights reserved.

Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria Location
Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria is located in Piazza Tasso, in the center of Sorrento; a magnificently panoramic position which affords breathtaking views out over the Gulf of Naples. The hotel is situated directly above the harbour of Marina Piccola, from where a regular hydrofoil and ferry service provides connections with the Island of Capri and Naples. The archaeological sites of Pompei and Herculaneum are both within easy driving distance of the hotel.
The Amalfi Coast, home to the towns of Amalfi, Positano, and Ravello, is just a few kilometers away and easily reached by car or by bus.
During the summer months, boat connections are available from Sorrento to all of the tourist destinations on the Gulf of Naples. From Sorrento, visitors may choose to travel to Naples via the Circumvesuviana railway, along a line which also stops at Pompei. The nearest airport to the hotel is that of Naples Capodichino Airport. Those travelling by train should descend at Naples Central Railway station from where to take the Circumvesuviana railway line, as far as Sorrento.
