Borgo Storico Seghetti Panichi

Borgo Storico Seghetti Panichi is an ancient complex, situated in Italy's Marche region, in the countryside just outside the city of Ascoli Piceno. First mention of the Borgo Storico Seghetti Panichi dates back to the year 1300, in a document which describes it as "a castle on the Lama torrent". The Borgo is comprised of a number of buildings including the Villa, the San Pancrazio Cottage, the Oratory, and the "Dimora Storica"; all of which set within the old medieval perimeter walls.

The façade of the "Dimora Storica" was erected and modified towards the end of the 17th century, when the ancient fortress was transformed in Country Residence. The present kitchen of the "Dimora Storica" has been created in the fortress's 15th century crypt. In the Oratory, dating back to the 17th century, guests can still admire the exquisite frescoes attributed to the School of Biagio Miniera. San Pancrazio's Cottage, which once served as lodgings for the workers, was constructed at the start of the 17th century. In the following centuries a number of additional edifices were built on the site.

The park which surrounds the Borgo was inaugurated in 1870, year in which the noble Carfratelli Seghetti family engaged the services of the great landscape designer Ludwig Winter to realize a garden which would lend additional lustre to their already grandiose summer residence.

Ten beautifully furnished suites are available to those wishing to sojourn at the Borgo Storico Seghetti Panichi. Five of the units are located in the Villa whilst an additional 5 duplexe suites, complete with kitchenette, are situated in the San Pancrazio Cottage. All suites offer a delightful combination of authentic period furnishings and the latest in modern, in-room services.

Superlative contemporary Italian cuisine is served at the hotel's "La Quintana" restaurant. For the health conscious, a selection of delicious low calorie meals are available at the Coffee House. During the warm summer months, guests have the opportunity to partake in a cold buffet lunch, served on the terraces by the pool.

A number of the estate's attractive outbuildings have been converted so as to provide additional facilities for guests: a small gym and sauna, two function rooms, and a boutique; this latter stocked with an exclusive range of hand crafted gift items and an impressive selection of books.
