Borgo la Bagnaia, situated in the glorious Tuscan countryside just 12kms away from the city of Siena, dates back to the 15th century when its served as agricultural estate and preferred country residence of members of the local aristocracy. In recent years the centuries-old complex has been expertly restored and transformed in stunning 5 star resort.

The 72 rooms and suites, distributed in the main body of the hotel and the cluster of ancient buildings surrounding what was once the main square, are all individually appointed and feature a delightful combination of traditional hand crafted Tuscan furniture and exquisite ornaments of Indian and Chinese origin, all belonging to the owner's private collection.

Within the estate, lies Borgo di Filetta: an even older group of buildings dating back to the early 12th century when it served as important customs station. Borgo di Filetta has a total of 29 bedrooms and suites all luxuriously furnished and featuring original stone work and exposed beams.

Guests dining at the hotel's "La Voliera" restaurant, enjoy the finest Tuscan cuisine, with dishes inspired by the local gastronomic tradition and prepared using only the best, locally sourced ingredients. A well researched selection of wines from both the region's most highly acclaimed and still emerging wine producers ensures the perfect accompaniment to every meal. On fine days guests can eat "al fresco" on the restaurant terrace overlooking the square.

The hotel's Buddha Spa has been built in what were once the estate's ancient stables, converted in marvelous, light filled wellness center. Early 2010 is the date foreseen for the completion of the resort's 18 hole golf course, currently under construction. In the mean time, enthusiasts of the sport are able to use the Bagnaia Golf Academy's practice course with 10 covered positions, putting green, pitching green, practice bunkers, video zone and club fitting service.

Borgo la Bagnaia also has an exclusive Events Venue, tucked out of sight of the main village on the hillside overlooking Siena. A truly multifunctional center, the Anfiteatro can be transformed in concert hall and theatre, complete with back stage and dressing rooms. The Events Venue has capacity for as many as 450 guests. In the foyer with glass walls and views over Siena cocktails, coffee breaks and light buffets are served. There is also a press room and two executive meeting rooms for up to 10 participants. The center is equipped with the latest technology including WIFI, HDSL connection, motorized sliding walls and technicians boxes.
